Micro Laser Resurfacing
What is Micro Laser Resurfacing?
A special laser beam, called Erbium ND-Yag laser, is scanned over a treatment area to precisely ablate a very thin layer of skin, removing old, damaged tissue. Removing the top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired, aged look such as superficial blemishes and pigment irregularities. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. The result is healthier-looking skin, often with reduced wrinkles and improved color evenness.

How is the Micro Laser Resurfacing different from Microdermabrasion and Fractional CO2 Laser Peel?
Generally, microdermabrasion only removes the stratum corneum. The Micro Laser Peel is a partial to full epidermal peel and is performed with the topical anesthetic. Because the procedure ablates deeper into the epidermis, it is the perfect step between microdermabrasion and CO2 Laser Peel. Micro Laser Resurfacing has significant less down time compared with CO2 Laser Peel which it does require a more extensive recovery period. Recovery time for treatment with the CO2 laser is typically 7 to 10 days. Healing from Micro Laser Resurfacing takes 3-4 days. The procedure can be performed on a Thursday or Friday, so you can return to work the following Monday. It is also called "Weekend Laser Peel".
How many Micro Laser Peels can be done?
Typically, the procedure is repeated 2-4 times, spaced 6-8 weeks apart, but many peels may be done to achieve the desired result.
